 “Let them take me,” High Prince Rah says.
 I know what the tone of his voice means. It means that he will not be swayed. Rah is resolute. It is one of his finest qualities and a quality which we have in common.
 But I would not be good council if I did not object.
 “Let them take you, my Prince? What do you mean exactly? You mean not to fight when they have no right to come to our lands to insist that we should give our second in sovereign up?”
 I’m not one to back down from a fight.
 I know what Rah means when he says that he wishes to go peacefully into their custody, but High Prince Rah’s plan of action is too hard for me to digest. Ordinarily, Rah isn’t one to back down when being aggressed, either, so his solution to this problem surprises me.
 “Don’t be disappointed, Cepos. I can see it in your face,” Rah says. “This won’t be forever. And I’m not letting them win. In a game like this, strategy is more important than might. It’s only for now. We’ll avoid a big scene. I shall not give them cause to fight unfairly. They’ll have to kill me unjustly. I won’t give them the keys to hide behind a just reason for why they ended my life or your lives. I shall at this time work within the confines of Septi Law.”
 “Of course, High Prince,” I say. “Your wish is my command.” I tip my head in deference and bow.
 “Take care of Zora for me. Help run the kingdom. The other princes haven’t had to be as deeply involved,” Rah continues. “They’ll need your guidance and steadfastness, General.”
 “I shall accept my charge with great honor. Indeed, I will do all that you have asked,” I say before Rah leaves me to converse with Zora.
 Rah pulls Zora aside, takes her hands in his, and says things to her as their heads are close, but I cannot hear what they are saying. What great misfortune for the two of them.
 They were getting along so well and beginning their lives together. Now, they’ll be separated for goodness knows how long.
 Jamila’s eyes meet mine. “Is he serious,” she says to me quietly. “He’s just going to surrender when we could fight?”
 Jamila, Jamila, Jamila, always ready for action.
 “Computer, open the doors,” Rah says.
 Now opening doors.
 The doors open, and large yellow Malvevians with horns that point up to the sky march into Rah’s keep as if they own the place.
 “Lazor, from the High Council, has given us permission to retrieve Rah for questioning.”
 As Rah steps forward, I step in front of him. “It’s High Prince Rah,” I say to the Malvevian intruder. “You’ll do well to treat him accordingly.”
 I feel Rah’s hand clamp upon my shoulder. “I come in peace,” Rah says, voice booming.
 Peace for who? There shall be no real peace until High Prince Rah and King Abrax are returned to their rightful places, but we will strategize as Rah has commanded.
 I’m a soldier first. I follow the commands given to me as long as they are just. “Take me instead,” I say to the Malvevian who towers above me in height. I know it’s not the size of a being that matters. It’s fighting skills that make all of the difference. Rah is needed here in this realm, and I will sacrifice my life for him if that is what is required to keep him in his post.
 “Take you?” The Malvevian’s face contorts. “How so?
