Editor: DEPE Editor/Proofing: Wendy Neale Cover Design: DEPE BACK OF THE BOOK The smallest disturbance within the supernatural realm could easily expose their closely guarded existence to humans with potentially devastating consequences. It is with this threat looming that the vampires and witches were carefully monitoring the turmoil brewing amongst the wolves. Billionaire playgirl and business tycoon, Myer Olex, was the darling of the media and the Alpha of the biggest, most influential wolf pack in the country. No one but her is aware of the utter chaos that was her private life as she embarks upon a drastic new phase in her life whilst at the same time dreading the imminent implosion of her race. Gillian Smith was happy with her uneventful life until she accepted a seemingly innocent lunch date which set her on a turbulent path of self-discovery. DEDICATION For my readers. You rock! Prologue Four months earlier… “Come on now. Open your eyes, babe.” When the soft command was ignored, Gillian giggled. “Don’t be such a sissy. Who’d have thought that the big, sexy Alpha would be scared of a little nip.” The dark eyelashes flickered but still didn’t open. Instead, a gorgeous smile formed on the full lips, dimpling the cheeks. “I’ve been on the receiving end of your small nips before, and they hurt.” Gillian scoffed at that. What an exaggeration! Yes, she loved biting her lover. In wolf mating, it’s not only common but also very erotic. “The baddest wolf alive and you can’t handle a small love nip. I wonder what your pack would say if they got wind of this.” “They’ll most probably frown at your propensity for chewing on their Alpha.” The eyelashes opened to reveal piercing hazel green eyes with rich, gold flecks. Gillian felt herself grow wet at being caught in their stare. To think she had found them too hard when they first met, now a mere glimpse from them made her want to straddle the other woman. “What?” She inhaled deeply as she ran a finger over the sleek eyebrow. “You’re so sexy,” she said quietly, having stopped being surprised by her unusual honesty around the woman. Her lover wasn’t a softy nor was she considered safe. Her tough reputation as the Alpha of the Bazmar Pack saw to that. Yet, not many get to see this side of her. The playful, funny lover who made love with an intensity that left her breathless and who could be so tender in the aftermath as she held Gillian to her chest. Gillian’s eyes welled up at the thought that she was falling for this woman. Myer Olex was known for not staying with a partner for long. Gillian had been well-aware of that when the imposing woman had walked through the doors of the Gayest Place on Earth, a non-profit haven for young queer kids living on the streets. She also knew that when she had accepted the woman’s invitation for a working dinner, which had halfway turned into a date. When she looked away, a firm hand grabbed her chin and turned her face back so their eyes could meet again. “What’s wrong?” She shook her head, smiling in an attempt to hide her insecurity and fear. “You’ve always been honest with me, Gillian.” Her eyes were even more piercing than usual as she searched hers. “Let’s not change that now.” Sadly, that was the truth. She couldn’t help but be truthful with the woman. She didn’t know how or why but that was just the way it was. “I’m not ready to talk about it.” A hand cupped her cheek and Gillian melted at the warmth in the hazel eyes. “Tell me as soon as you are ready. Okay? I want to know.” She nodded and allowed herself to be drawn into a gentle but firm kiss. The woman’s kisses were intoxicating and left her a little dazed every time. When the taller body rolled over hers, she eagerly opened her legs to receive the woman to settle in her womanly cradle. She doubted she would ever get enough of the woman and her insatiable brand of lovemaking. It was demanding and sometimes frightening in its intensity but it was never cruel or degrading. She always felt like she was part of the action, not an object in someone’s goal for self-gratification. Gillian felt the soft prodding of a tongue against her lips and she opened her mouth to grant her lover entry. Pretty soon, she would allow the same down there, and then she would end up a sweaty, satisfied mess afterward. A knock drew a deep growl from the Alpha as she lifted her head, her hazel eyes having shaded to a deep rich gold. She wasn’t happy about the interruption and neither was Gillian. After a soft peck to her lips and an apologetic smile, she watched as her gorgeous lover slipped from the rumpled sheets and threw on a robe before she went to the door. “You are needed urgently, Alpha.” “Why?” Myer snapped. “The package has arrived.” Gillian saw the woman’s shoulders tense up and knew that their beautiful Saturday evening had come to an end. She covered her face with her hands, suppressing a frustrated shout. In a very short time, the other woman had managed to turn her on to the point where she might have to consider taking matters into her own hands. Though it wouldn’t be anywhere near as pleasant
