I was finally going to cash in my v-card. It sounded ridiculous considering I was twenty-one and most people in my social circle had lost theirs when they were sixteen/seventeen. For me, it wasn’t as simple as them and not because I was an ugly duckling or a prude. It was the simple fact that my parents, especially my father, were beyond strict. I grew up Italian Catholic and I wasn’t even allowed to date. I didn't have my first kiss until I was nineteen and finally met a boy that my parents approved of.
