Reviewers may quote brief passages in a review. Seth has fully settled into living with Clark, and all the incredible things that come with it. Not only does he have an amazing place to live, but he gets Clark’s time and attention and indulgences. Seth feels like a spoiled, pampered pet, and he’s never been happier. He doesn’t know what to expect when Clark requests that Seth accompany him on a Valentine’s Day getaway, but Seth is excited to find out. He wants to see what Clark has planned and give Clark a gift of his own—but Seth also thinks he might be brave enough to finally do something they’ve both been wanting; taking Clark completely. Of course, that’s when Clark brings out the toys… His Good Boy has a 1 dove rating. Visit Dove’s website for more information on the Dove Scale. Contents Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Chapter Five Haze Chapter One When Seth had left Turner’s Toys to start his new job as an entry level medical coding assistant, he’d shifted to working fully remote. It was a big change, but not in any way a bad one. As soon as Seth had shared the news of his job, Clark had told him in no uncertain terms that he would be converting one of the house’s guest rooms into an office for Seth to use for work. Seth had tried to protest that he didn’t need a separate office, and could just as well work from his bedroom, but Clark had simply stated that it wasn’t up for debate, and that it was important to keep work life separate from home life. This meant Seth not working where he slept. Not that Seth slept all that often in his room anymore, but he did appreciate having a room that was all his. A place where he could keep his things, and where he could go when he wanted some space for himself away from Clark or the other people who were in and out of the house all the time. He did have to admit, after working in his new office for two weeks, that it was actually really nice to be able to “to go work” and “leave work,” even if that simply meant leaving one room for another. Plus, it felt more professional to be part of a video call in an actual office, as opposed to in his bedroom. Seth had just finished up one such video call when there was a knock on his door. He could tell at once that it was Clark’s assistant, Katherine Miller, because she had a very distinctive knock. Since Seth had moved in, he and Katherine had developed a friendly rapport, which had enabled Seth to feel less awkward in Clark’s big house. Sometimes Katherine would even text Seth to let him know that a package would be arriving at the house, and ask him to please retrieve it. It was nice to be given a responsibility like that, even if it was just a small one. It made Seth feel like he was an actual part of Clark’s household. Considering Katherine pretty much ensured everything else about the household ran smoothly, Seth was happy to help her out when he could. “Just a sec,” Seth called, getting up from his desk. When he opened his door, he was met with a bouquet of flowers that completely obscured Katherine’s face. The flowers were an enormous array of oranges and yellows in a handsome glass vase. “These are for you,” Katherine said from behind the bouquet, holding it out to Seth. Seth hurried to take the vase from her because it looked heavy, but was still surprised by the heft of it when she shifted it into his arms. There were roses and peonies and a bunch of other flowers Seth didn’t even know the names of, but they were all in yellows and oranges, his two favorite colors. He suddenly remembered Clark asking him if he liked flowers just a few days ago. So it was a thoughtful gift in a beautiful presentation, that had to be from Clark. But why was Seth getting flowers? Before he could ask, Katherine reached into the tote bag she had slung over one shoulder and pulled out a red envelope. “They come with a card.” “Okay, uh–” Seth couldn't take the envelope while holding the vase, it was simply too big and heavy for that. Instead he went to set the vase on his desk. Katherine followed him inside. “What are the flowers for?” Seth asked as he took the envelope from her. Katherine only gave him a look, half amused and half teasing. “It’s February,” she said dryly. “And the envelope is red. What do you think?” It embarrassed Seth every time Katherine gave him one of those looks. It was her shorthand for you really have him wrapped around your finger, don’t you? And it caused Seth to flush every time. He wasn’t even doing anything to make Clark like him. He was just as surprised as anyone else that Clark did. “It’s not Valentine’s Day yet,” Seth said. Even with all the chaos of switching jobs, he knew at least that much hadn’t slipped him by. His days might have been blurring together somewhat, but he knew the fourteenth was this upcoming Saturday. He’d already made Clark
