His cool blue eyes twinkled down at me as his perfect lips curved in a winning smile. My knees went weak as the full force of that smile turned on me. “I want to show you something.” His lips tickled my pointed ear as he whispered. His hand snaked around the small of my back, guiding me down the path, away from the bonfire and the groups of dancing teenagers. “Aspen, come dance with us!” one of the nymph girls called from a circle of twirling students. Her lithe, nearly translucent form swayed to the music. Curls of magic amplified the noise, setting the beat thumping in my chest. Kasin squeezed my hand as my heart picked up another notch. Parties on the island were common on the weekends. We needed a break from boarding school every now and then. But this was the first one I’d ever been to with Kasin. “Maybe later,” I called with a wave of my hand. The nymph winked at me, fluttering her long fingers. “Kasin! They’re setting up a game of catch the pixie! We had a freshman pixie volunteer!
