There will be three books in this series to tell Harley and Ezra’s story, and I’m here to warn you… there will be some cliffhanger action. But I promise, the cliffhanger in Silhouette is a… promising one? Yes, let’s go with that. And, I promise not to make you wait too long for Book 2. Which will bring another cliffhanger… That being said, I absolutely adore happy endings, so keep this in mind throughout this series! We’ll get there, I promise. I’m making a lot of promises here, aren’t I? It’s alright, I’m a trustworthy person. I will also warn you that you will most likely fall in love with our side characters. But! Have no fear. There are plans for their own stories as well. Maybe a second chance MF romance? Perhaps a reverse harem may be coming our way? Hmm… This story takes place in a real town and city, and contains references to a real university. Any mention of these real locations you recognize are placed within a fictional context. Ultimately, this is a work of fiction and does not represent my views or opinions on these places. Creative freedoms and liberties were taken within the context of the music industry for the purpose of this book… it’s drama, baby. There are some sensitive subject matters in this book. Please review the below list of trigger warnings before proceeding: Past parental abuse and neglect Homomisia and homomisic slurs Substance addiction mentioned and portrayed (not from any main characters) Mental health topics such as anxiety and panic attacks Mention of death of a parent Sexually explicit scenes Ultimately, this is a work of fiction and a beautiful love story. I’ve shed tears of both sadness and joy for these boys, and I hope you love them as much as I do! Happy reading! Eve xo CHAPTER ONE I walk up to the doors of the bar and consider turning around. There’s a line-up of people waiting to get in, presenting their IDs to the bouncer. I look around for Callum but don’t see him anywhere, and assume he is already inside. I sigh, shoving my hands into the pockets of my leather jacket and join the line-up. I said I’d be here, so here I am. The line moves quickly, and before I know it, I’m showing the bouncer my ID. It’s a fake ID, since I’m 19, so I try to fix my features to look relaxed and confident. My attempt to act 21 didn’t matter since I’m waved through after he barely even looked at it. Callum did say it’s not a strict bar. Apparently, most people here are underage since it’s so close to the university, and a hub for local live music. I head down the stairs to the underground bar, the sound of bass thumping through my chest. Weaving around drunk people stopped to talk on the stairs, I once again consider backing out until I remind myself that I need to do this. Callum seems like a nice guy, and it was thoughtful of him to invite me. This bar, The Rocks, has local music every weekend, and he was excited about the band playing tonight. A rock band that was made up of some local kids who now tour around the states, and they’re returning to where it all started. I met Callum when he came into The Guitar Shop last week, where I work. He brought in an old Fender he wanted to fix up, and damn, was it ever nice. Apparently old Fenders give me loose lips, so we started talking about guitar and music around Ithaca. I’ve played guitar since I was a kid, and it’s pretty much my only passion in life. I had told him I just moved here and didn’t know much about the music scene in town. And that I didn’t know anyone here. So, he invited me out tonight. I agreed, since I knew I needed to meet people and start living my life. But now that I’m here, my anxiety is rearing its ugly head. Making friends is really fucking hard. This is all new to me, and I remind myself that this is the reason I left home and moved to Ithaca. I can’t let my anxiety to get the best of me, as it usually does. I run my fingers through my brown shoulder length hair, take a deep breath, and step into the bar. It’s a cool space, with lower ceilings and dim lighting to give it a cave-type vibe. The bar is to the left of the open space, and the stage is to the right. People are milling about in the
