To my better half. Thank you for being you. Bellamy Treasure. Beauty. Daughter. Druid. Kidama. I think these names—these endearments—are mine? All I have in this strange era are snippets of dreams and memories that I fear may be better left forgotten. Except him. There’s someone I’m waiting to find me. But when he finds me, he tells me that he knows me as something else. I’m the druid who tricked, enchanted, and betrayed him. I don’t know much, but I do know I must prove him wrong… Before the real threat from our past catches up to us. Zain I’m the reason me and my brethren were turned to stone for who knows how many millennia. How could I, a Demon General, fall for such a pathetic druid trick? I cannot answer because of missing memories. I now have a chance for revenge and to atone for falling under her spell. I will rid this world of the last living druid… If only her magic hadn’t bound us together first. Small fish darted back and forth before a pristine, beautiful face that immortalized sorrow, betrayal, and a broken heart. Polished stone hands were clasped together as if pleading, but the tears that should have been in her once-seeing eyes were long gone as she slumbered in her frozen prison. While the statue rested in quiet solitude at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, the weakening tethers of a powerful spell imprisoning a trio of ruthless Demon Generals finally snapped. Unexpected movement startled the fish, sending them flitting away. Unyielding stone returned to delicate flesh and warm blood, the woman’s now delicate fingers unclasping as long wavy hair lifted away from her body in slow motion. Her eyes shot open, and she screamed as bubbles raced toward the surface far, far above. CHAPTER 1 PRESENT DAY BELLAMY “Think she’s a loony?” I heard the young blond male wonder aloud across the room. An older male with dark skin tapped his fingers against the white wall he leaned against. I could feel their stares on me as I sat on a cushioned seat in a room that felt suffocating as I did my own staring at rapidly shifting colors in a window to another world. I didn’t know who I was. In fact, I didn’t seem to know anything. Actually, there was something I did know. Colors should not be moving like that. A strange world was trapped in that thing, just like I was trapped in this room. It wasn’t that the room was tiny. In fact, it was large enough to have several chairs like the one I was sitting on and a few small tables spread between them, and the room was divided by a smaller thick wall that the younger male was sitting behind. Even further back were even more half-walls that divided the room even further. Why were there so many walls? Why couldn’t we be somewhere outside in a wide, open space? My face heated, and my throat tightened. I concentrated on my breathing to keep myself from panicking. In. Out. In. Out. “I don’t think that’s the PC term we’re supposed to be using,” drawled out the older male. I didn’t care what PC meant, but I did want answers to who I was. If I was really a loony, then I was fine with that! Although now I’d have to figure out exactly what a loony is. “Stop being inconsiderate idiots. She can hear you,” said another voice belonging to someone entering the room. Great. Another person in this already suffocating space. The voice sounded like it belonged to the female who had tried to help me when the two males brought me to this strange building. Part of me was curious and wanted to look, but another part wanted me to stay quiet so that they’d stop asking me questions I couldn’t answer. Although at least my hearing was improving. I could understand what they were saying now. Before, everything they said had sounded like a jumbled mess. I wanted to be outside, but they had pushed me to enter the unfamiliar building. I had the strangest feeling that even if I was uncomfortable now, things would have been worse if I had tried to fight to stay outside. And it wasn’t like I had much fight to give. The best I could do was give a failed try. My body felt tired and weak, and my mind felt like it was spinning, ready to topple over if I didn’t get this breathing thing right. In. Out. In. Out. “Are you sure? All she’s been doing is staring at the TV since we put her in the lobby,” said the younger one, his voice filled with doubt. Interesting—they trapped another world in the TV. That was one mystery solved. “Until Doc can arrive and check her out, be nice,” the female chided, annoyance and exasperation heavy in her voice. There
