CHAPTER ONE My world was going to Hell in a handbasket in a literal way. I’d effectively blown up my love life with Abaddon since I wanted to be loved for me and not by someone under a compulsion to want me. Demons might look at things differently, but I had forty human years under my belt and only a few weeks of being aware of my Demon heritage. And what a few weeks it had been. Trying to avoid being killed and keeping my dad and brother safe had become my full time job. Living a double life as a human actress and a very reluctant Demon Goddess was complicated. Whatever. It was what it was. And now? Now I was doing something else I didn’t want to do. Outside the restaurant, I gripped my trusty truck, Judy’s steering wheel and debated not going through with dinner. There were paparazzi everywhere. It made me itchy. I had no clue who was at the restaurant to cause such a fuss. I was tempted to text Slash and make up a lie to get out of it, but I’d just have to reschedule. Slash might be lacking in the brains department, but my ex-husband was persistent.
