I blink several times, rub my eyes, then look again. Nope, nothing’s changed. I wasn’t hallucinating. Here it is, clearly spelled out. My bosses are coming to town. They’ll be visiting our offices tomorrow, on the last workday before the holiday break. This is a complete nightmare, a disaster waiting to happen. I know what you’re thinking. That I’m being dramatic, that things can’t possibly be that bad. Well, here’s the deal. I’ve been working for Fi-Corp for a month now, and the only time I got to meet the company owners, I was a total shit show. I’m talking stuttering, standing frozen in place, losing all intellectual ability… It was pathetic. I’m really lucky it was our branch’s Managing Director who hired me. I would have miserably failed in an interview with The Three Hot Suits. Fi-Corp is a multi-billion dollar financial group. And I work at the branch located in Delmonte, Central California. I really enjoy my job as Head of Human Resources for our local pool of fifty employees. I love that I know every single one of them, and get to work on a variety of tasks. From recruiting and on-boarding, to payroll, training… Well, I don’t exactly enjoy every aspect of my job. For instance, the severance handling part is no fun. And if you don’t get your shit together, you’ll be next on that train. “Talking to yourself again?” I startle at the sound of a throaty, feminine voice resonating from my office door. “Yas, you almost gave me a heart attack,” I exclaim, pressing a hand to my chest in a futile attempt to calm my rapid-beating heart. Yasin Dia, our Branch Managing Director, saunters inside my office. She closes the door and elegantly settles into the seat facing my desk, crossing her long legs. Yasin is a tall, curvy, dark-skinned, classic-Hollywood style beauty. She’s always impeccably dressed in designer pencil skirts, silk blouses, and fancy high-heels. With cheekbones to die for and long ebony hair tumbling down her delicate shoulders in loose curls. I may have a bit of a girl crush on her, but I’m also kind of scared of the woman, because she’s such a baddie. “You sure it’s me giving you palpitations?” Yasin enquires, raising a perfectly manicured eyebrow. I let out a groan and drop my forehead on top of the desk. Without looking up, I mumble, “you saw the email?” Of course, Yasin knows. If our bosses are coming to visit, she’s obviously in the loop. She snaps at me in her signature mixture of pep talk and tough love, “girl, get yourself together. You’re a badass. What is it with you and these guys? Okay, they’re fine. But you’re hot, too. And funny, smart, great at your job-” As she’s talking, Yasin stands, laying her palms flat on top of my desk and staring me in the eye with an intense gaze. “There’s no reason for you to lose control around these men, or any other,” she finishes. With each sentence leaving her mouth, I nod enthusiastically. Yas, preach it, gurl! “You’re absolutely right. I will be calm, collected, and professional,” I reply, not exactly sure who I’m trying to convince. I straighten in my seat, pushing my shoulders back in a gesture meant to boost my confidence. “There you go. Now you just keep that attitude up while they’re here, yeah?” Yasin adds. My eyes grow wide… Will I be able to act like the responsible adult I am around my bosses? Yasin watches doubt invade my features, then shakes her head. “Girl, you’re screwed.” I mumble to myself, “I wish…” “What was that?” She asks, giving me an incredulous look. “No… nothing?” I sort of answer, but mostly ask. Yas shakes her head once more, leaving me with a, “girl, bye.” She’s right. I’m a mess. I have no business panting after our bosses, and even more so, three of them. They’re ridiculously handsome, crazy rich, well-known in our professional spheres, older, more mature, sophisticated, and simply out of my league. But I’ve never felt this way about any man, let alone several… All three of them are tall, broad, dark-haired, with skin tones going from olive to a delicious golden tan. With their chiseled features and carved jaws, they’re fucking magnificent. When I met Ethan, Alex, and Vaughn, they were dressed in impeccably cut suits that did nothing to hide their powerful frames. Making them look like GI Joes who’d ditched
