ANAIS Life was perfect… almost. I mean things were certainly a lot better than any other time in my life. I had three amazing — and powerful — men who wanted nothing more than to please me and give me lots of orgasms. And I loved that part, even if those three guys rarely got along. They were all just a little too alpha male and there was a reason there was only one alpha in a pack. My family life was also going well. My uncle Don had regained his memories and was once again a financial genius, day trading and investing and doing a lot of other things I didn’t really understand. While Reia — my youngest daughter — and I were even getting along… most of the time. She was teaching me to play chess, and I was surprised to learn I liked it and wasn’t half bad at it, even if I still couldn’t beat her. To top it off, my job at Elysium — a high-end club for daemons — was going well, and my manager, Harmonia, was becoming a great friend and sounding board as I tried to figure myself out, something I was still struggling to do. Having accepted that I was indeed a daemon — a lesser celestial being that was one step down from a god — I wanted more than ever to know who my parents had been. I felt as if knowing that would tell me so much about who I was. And I really needed to start figuring out who I was, because my guys were starting to not-so-subtly hint that they wanted more from our relationship. Except how could I give more if I hadn’t figured myself out yet? How could I love them if I didn’t even love myself? If I could just understand and love myself, then perhaps I could — terrifying as it was — love someone else and accept that they could love me. Then my life would be perfect. But I wasn’t there yet. “Penny for your thoughts?” Grey asked, startling me from my reverie. He set a large mug of steaming tea on the table beside my chair in my front room and straightened, rigid and refined. He’d taken to his role of butler in our household with vigor and had even bought an old-timey butler uniform: a black three-piece suit with a gray vest and a jacket with tails. This man was a billionaire but he’d given up all of that to be my live-in man-servant. And his new uniform was of course perfectly tailored and did everything to set off his masculine beauty, accentuating his broad shoulders and narrow waist. Except even though he was playing the role of servant, he couldn’t hide his commanding nature. Authority just radiated off of him like a heady musk. The dark stubble of a trimmed beard framed his square jaw, and his well-tanned skin and thick, black hair added to his exotic look. Then there were his eyes: so deep a girl could lose herself in them, falling for an eternity into those sable depths. Ever since he’d come to stay with me, the soul-sucking void which had resided in those eyes had vanished, but still, they were luscious pools of dark intensity, and I loved staring into them. He’d asked me a question… “Oh… ah… my thoughts?” I blinked up at him. Currently, my thoughts were all about tearing that fancy suit off him like a lollipop wrapper and licking the sexy core beneath. “Ah… nothing really.” “Still wondering about who you are?” he asked, as perceptive as ever. I sighed, squirming, unsettled despite the large and comfortable chair where I’d curled up. “Yeah.” He laid a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “You’ll get there. You’ve got many years ahead of you to figure it out.” Right… I was immortal… Maybe? I wasn’t really sure at this point. I was a daemon now, technically a “daemon lady,” since I had two aspects: sex and healing, and the guys — and Harmonia — had assured me that I was immortal… now. Although none of them could explain why I’d come into my powers so late in life. I was nearly forty. For most daemons, their powers showed up in their teens. But I’d lived as a human for most of my life until just recently when I’d discovered I was a daemon and my life had been turned upside down. Still, I wouldn’t really know if I’d stopped aging for a few more years. “Yeah… right,” I said, agreeing with him, although it was obvious I didn’t sound certain about it. Grey smiled. “Anything I can get you? Anything you need?” You, naked in my bed, giving me multiple screaming orgasms, my horny self purred in my head. Down girl! I chided myself. Though… I did want that. But I didn’t want to take advantage of Grey’s role in my house. He had certain nights where he’d be
