PreOrder Viper’s Story Also by me! To Renée and Amy, who devoured this by the chapter as I wrote it, and gave me the fuel to get it out and into the world CONTENT HOLD UP! Is there anything I should be aware of as a reader? Yes! Actually, let me get you a list so you know what you’re getting into! There’s cursing + explicit spice Got it, for adult readers only, right? Yes! And our FMC, Havoc has a history of sexual and physical abuse, explored in 1st POV flashbacks with non-explicit detail. So like mentioned, but not lingered on? Exactly! And lastly, this is enemies to lovers romance. There is discourse between FMC and her (kinda psycho) love interests for portions of the novel via intimidation and threat (But they never threaten sexual violence) It’s also has sweet sweet group scenes and mild MM! Oh, also! I write in British English (Realize/realise) I was born in England and now I live in Canada, so sometimes my language and dialogue has some funky flavour to it, (I’ve given up fighting it) but if I’m good, the spelling should all be consistent. Cheerio, let’s have a cuppa, eh bud? … Thanks for giving this book a shot, and enjoy the ride! ONE Havoc They came for me in the end. I heard the knock on the door first, which was a little insane, but it gave me time to get to the bathroom and lock myself in. I heard voices outside. Was the whole pack out there? My mates… I had to stifle an incongruous thrill, as if I could return to being the innocent little girl who romanticised a pack who would sweep her off her feet. A loud bang on the door made me jump and a low voice sounded. “We need to talk.” Talk? I wrung my fingers. Things were a bit beyond talking. It wasn’t inconceivable that if I opened that door right now, they might not just kill me. After what I’d done, they wouldn’t even get into trouble for it. “You’re gold pack, Havoc. The laws don’t protect you like they do everyone else...” I was the omega who’d killed their pack brother. I was the omega who killed her own alpha. That thought made me quake, but there was a bang on the door again. “Open it, or I’ll break it down.” That was Angel’s voice. I wrapped my arms around my stomach, steeling myself and staring at the broad white door for a long time before edging over to it and undoing the lock with a click. I backed up, hugging myself at the same time as I tried to keep my head high. No matter what I thought of them, I couldn’t afford to let them see my fear. The door creaked open. Angel looked over at me. He was the one who’d been there at the club. The one who’d found me next to Logan’s body. His eyes were dark as they held mine, then he waved me over. “Come.” He was just as beautiful as the picture I owned. Before, when he’d been there, I had been too far in the throes of shock to notice. His skin was a rich mid-brown, his dark hair was buzzed short, and there were heavy bags under his dark green eyes. I took a breath, relieved at least that he didn’t have a weapon, which I was half expecting at this point. Before, he’d been in shock, but now he’d had time to process everything. That the mate he had never known was trapped in his own house, and that I’d killed his pack brother. Slowly I stepped up to the door, trying to clear my expression of all terror. I wasn’t just afraid of meeting them because of what I’d done. I was afraid of meeting them because of the possibility that they were everything I’d ever dreamed of. Because now I was too late. Now they hated me. Angel took me by the arm and tugged me across the room as if expecting I’d make a break for it. The others in the pack were there. Two were on the cove of couches, and I noticed Kai first by his white hair and mismatched eyes—one white and one crimson. My gaze slid to the one I recognised as Caspian. He leaned against the wall beside the door, pale jaw set, looking as though he wished to be anywhere but here. He was tall, with long dark hair that was tied back, and tattoos that tangled up his neck to his jaw. I shoved down the flutter in my chest at seeing him for the first time. I was met with cold eyes and hatred from them all, aside from Bane. He was the largest of them, with dark hair that was neatly buzzed at the sides and pale skin. He watched me from his seat on the couch with an expression I
