Well, that’s not good. It’s never good to see an error when you are uploading to a new world.With that said, let’s go back ten minutes. After I died, I found myself drifting in a sea of darkness. From that darkness came a computer screen. I was given the choice; upload to a new world, or drift forever in peace. The answer was simple. I spent the entirety of my old life in a hospital. I was sick and bedridden for eighteen years. Then one day, I stopped breathing. I'd found peace at last.But the option to go to a new world held promise. A few questions first.Would I be reborn?Yes.Will I be a cripple?No.My hope rises as my two questions are answered. A chance to be able to live a full life is before me. I’m sure I would be crying right now if I could. I need to know more.What is this new world like?You will be placed in a world torn apart by war. Magic has scarred the planet, and the people are in need of help to rebuild. You may become anything you want. You can become an adventurer and keep the people safe. If you want to craft and build, there will be nothing stopping you. The choices are yours to make.Will I be able to cast magic?Yes.What type? Can I learn all types? What are the limits?You may choose one class of magic to learn. Every citizen of the world has an affinity to one magic type. The categories are Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark.Will I be able to heal if I choose light?Yes.Will I be able to attack?Do you want to?Huh, answering a question with a question. Yes, I would like to be able to defend myself.Light magic has the magic you seek.Then I want to be reborn. Will I start over as a kid?No. You will enter as your current self, with a repaired body. That is the most I can do for you.I accept.With two simple words I find myself filled with hope for the first time in years. That is, until the pain starts coursing through my body as the muscles are rebuilt. Unable to scream, I watch as my bones break apart before coming back stronger. The Chapter 2Day 1–First questI blink back tears as I open my eyes for the first time. The scenery before me is muffled and I can’t make out any sounds. A few moments pass before I realize why. The screen is still before me, with a few words written in bold lettering.Would you like to check your status?“Yes?” My voice is cracked, and my throat is parched. I’m in a new world with no idea what I’m supposed to do, and I can’t get this screen out of my face.“Get out of here, computer!” I yell, and to my surprise, the screen blips out of existence to my command. So that’s what it meant when it asked if I was issuing a command. I wonder…“Status.”Status displaying.I skim over my status sheet once more before asking it to disappear. Okay, so I can give commands to this interface? I think I’ve read about stuff like this in those isekai books. Supposedly you can do all sorts of things. “Map.”Command cannot be followed.“Okay.
