Chapter 1Day 77-Morning-Marcus’s POVTallia’s fluffy ears rub against my nose, waking me gently as the morning sun lights up my room. The fox girl feels me shift under her, and with tired eyes, she slowly looks up at me.“Good morning, Marcus.” Yawning, she pulls herself close enough to kiss me.Pulling her tighter, I savor the kiss before pulling away. “Good morning. Your ears caused problems again.”Chuckling, she brings them against my chin and wiggles while holding me down. Forced to endure the tickle, I do my best to blow into her ear. I succeed in stimulating her more as she bites down on my chest. Giggling, she pulls away and admires the teeth marks she left.“We should get up.” Her sudden change of tone leaves me confused as she gets up and starts getting dressed.“Umm… sure. I guess.” Pulling my eyes from her I look around the room for where my robe and pants ended up. Finally spotting them near the door, I’m forced to give her a show as I cross the room. A whistle follows after me, and I blush as I bend over.Getting dressed quickly causes Tallia to sigh. “I was enjoying the view, love. Why’d you have to get dressed so quickly?”“You enjoy teasing me too much,” I say before walking over to her. “I should get you back.” Reaching around her back, I grab the base of her tail and start rubbing the sensitive spot on the underside.Tallia does her best to pull away as she moans in pleasure. Slapping a hand over her mouth, she stifles what she can while glaring at me. “Stop!” Her muffled voice causes me to chuckle as I release her.“We should go. The others are probably waiting.” Turning from my fiancé, I walk out of the room, leaving her to quickly follow.“I’m going to get you back for that!” she calls after me as I hit the stairs.Chuckling, I descend down to the second floor before letting her catch up. Taking her hand, I let her guide me through the halls until we descend to the first floor, where we are sure everyone is waiting.I’m proven right as we enter the grand hall and find the others gathered. My seat at the head of the table is waiting for me as Mavis dishes up breakfast for everyone. She gives us a shy wave before setting a plate down for me and Tallia. After that, she places the platter with the extra food in the middle of the table before quickly joining Averick’s side.I’m the first to take a bite as the others wait to join me. This morning, Mavis has cooked up bacon and eggs gifted to us by the church. A moan escapes my lips as the food bursts with flavors that I haven’t tasted in over a month. Some of the others chuckle, but I know they feel the same way. The only ones that seem impassive are the Queen and her kids. The princess still looks half asleep and rubs her eyes as she picks at her food. Quin, who is enamored with Maple, keeps shooting her looks.Nala and Amber give her knowing looks that cause her to blush before she catches him staring. She pushes against his arm before saying, “Focus on eating. We need to get the day started if we are going to tour the city.” Her voice holds a commanding edge, and he is quick to focus on the task she gives him.The Queen chuckles at his obedience before turning to me. “What are your plans today, Marcus?”“I’m going to be heading back to Strom. Father Evans is waiting for me, and we need to buy supplies to get the keep stocked. I’m also hoping that I hear from Gabrielle, or the Commander. They are supposed to be looking for residents for this place. We could use a cook, so Mavis doesn’t have to keep doing it.”Amalia nods. “Tomorrow when I go home, I’ll look into a few people that can staff the keep.”“We would appreciate that,” I say honestly.Everyone passes their plates down to me, where I’m quick to clean them. Mavis takes them from me before heading back to the kitchen. Once she comes back, I look over my party and ask, “Who’s coming with me today?”Averick stands. “Mavis and I will be, but we will be splitting off. We have
