The Boss’s Bride The Boss’s Prize The Boss’s Revenge The Boss’s Runaway The Boss’s Captive Three Weeks EarlierKIRA It wasn’t every day that a girl was rushing to help her fiancé end up with another woman, but given how my life seemed to go, it was fitting. It made more sense once you considered the fact that it was a fake engagement, and the man in question was my best friend. The only thing in my way was a man who had less business than I had here. Rocco Luciano didn’t know when to mind his own business, but I was about to show him. He stood in my way, and I had no choice but to take him out. “Hana, you need to get in there.” My cool words sounded more confident than I felt, but the youngest son of the Luciano family didn’t need to know that. I slid under his arm, spinning Hana free, as my other hand rose, my favorite blade clenched between my fingers. His skin was soft as butter. The slice took him across the cheek. A superficial wound, but Rocco Luciano was clearly not used to being on the receiving end of any kind of hurt, especially not coming from a woman. He was the heartbreaker, I was sure, not the other way around. “You cut me?” His incredulous voice was turning hard quickly, clearly taken aback by anything other than complete adoration from a woman. The man was handsome as hell, rich, and powerful. He no doubt had women falling at his feet. I would never be one of them. “You let yourself get cut,” I challenged. Rocco chuckled, suddenly sending gooseflesh down my arms. I’d thought him the youngest and least powerful Luciano, but now he turned his dark, flashing eyes to me, and I saw I’d been mistaken. “I don’t know who you are, but you’re going to pay for that.” “Hana, stop wasting time. I can handle the baby Luciano here,” I said to Hana, and turned on my heel. I had a feeling that if I ran right now, Rocco would follow, and get out of Hana’s way. I took off and heard his footsteps pounding after me. I was right. CHAPTER 1RoccoNOW Being the youngest son in a famiglia like mine means one thing. Don’t embarrass the Luciano name. It sounded easier than it was in practice. Regardless, I had managed to reach a respectable age without seriously incurring the wrath of Vincenzo, my eldest brother, and the capo of the Luciano family. I got to run my clubs, the hottest places in town, spend my money as I wanted, engage in thoroughly thrilling escapades with my brothers in arms, and generally live a reckless, unburdened life. I just had to follow a few simple rules that kept me out of trouble. Kira Navrakova had trouble written all over her. She was five foot two inches of pure mayhem, with murder in her eyes, and a pout that could stop a man’s heart. I was fairly certain she could outfight me, and absolutely certain that kissing her would mean a fist to the nose, or maybe even a blade to the chest, and yet, every single time I saw her, I seriously considered that it might be worth it. She would overpower me because I’d be pulling my punches, while she’d be fighting for her life. I couldn’t imagine her doing anything with less than a terrifying amount of intensity. Since some trouble with her previous fiancé, who’d ended up married to another woman, she’d started coming into Luna, my hottest nightclub. I found myself there every night, just to watch her. As she moved through the crowd, the people seemed to form a wordless space around her. I knew they were seeing her determined, terrifying look, and taking a step back. Still, they watched her. She was like that. Terrifying and fascinating all at once. “Evening, Boss.” Alberto, my second in command at the club, handed me my usual drink and stood beside me at the railing that circled the raised-level VIP section. He followed my eyes down to the packed dancefloor and smirked. “I was going to ask why you were checking in on us again, the fourth night in a row, but now I get it.” “You do?” “Sure, I do. You want to get a nice matching scar on the other side, to match the first she gave you.” The scar. It happened a few weeks ago. I assumed it would fade at some point, but I didn’t care much either way. I was vain enough to think it added to my dangerous appeal. Moreover, it was a reminder that I should never underestimate my opponent. I’d had my guard down around Kira, and I’d paid for it in blood. I’d never make that mistake again. “I thought you said it made me endearingly rugged?” I reminded Alberto. He chuckled. “I lied.” He turned to look back at the woman making her way to her usual perch. “The real question is why does she come here all the time? If she was looking for you, why doesn’t she approach you?” I considered his words. “Maybe she’s scared to get turned down. Maybe
