Let me help you out. We started with the death of Tasa, the beloved Moon Coven leader. Her funeral gave Raven flashbacks to her grandmother’s funeral and basically brought us up to speed on all things “Evil Dark King.” Her asshole boyfriend, Nikos, got a little pushy and she left him in the dust to traipse off to the dark castle with her bestie Kirsi after being selected for the Witch Trials. The competition is going about as well as one could hope. Kirsi and Raven are doing okay, but they’ve got some competition if they want to win the coven leader spot. Onyx is a dick, Willow is out for blood, and the Dark King has eyes for one person only, much to her dismay. But then shit gets real and people start dropping like flies. Grey, the Dark King’s cousin, forms a friendship with the girls, but when he catches Raven in the secret Grimoire room, all bets are off. Bastian sends Raven love notes that eventually warm her heart-ish… But the night of the ball, everything changes. Nikos shows up to find her in the arms of the Dark King, and the other coven leaders force a death spell on her that takes her ability to gain more spells and well… Kirsi is mysteriously killed the next morning. With the Dark King’s dagger as the murder weapon, Raven loses her shit and wreaks havoc on the black castle as she’s hunting for Bastian. He traps her in the time-out room. Once she’s somewhat calm and has his promise that he hasn’t had anything to do with it, she wants nothing more than to go home, back to Crescent Cottage, Scoop in tow. Shored up on the mysterious border of the human lands, after one night only, I'd kill to feel the white sand between my toes, to leap into the cold autumn water and be able to feel it chill me to the bone. But as a wraith, that would never happen. The only thing I could feel was the overwhelming presence of sorrow deep within my gut. Haunted. Which made sense, because that's exactly what I was. Haunted by the reality of my future. Missing my familiar; the tie to Scoop had been completely severed by an unknown hand. Whoever had killed me deserved a fate worse than death, and I'd be the one to deliver justice. For as much as Raven was responsible for disturbing my afterlife, so was that person for damning me to it. Slipping away from Grey and Raven for solace, I hovered above the ground, my ghostly being a far cry from graceful as I swooped low, curious to see if I could manipulate the sand. I couldn't. Not a trace left behind as I wandered away from my gloomy companions. Again, I tried. Descending to the beach in a frantic dive, the world became dark as I crossed the barrier of earth with nothing but silt around me.
