For those that want to know exactly what this book entails, I’ll start with this: it’s not RH. This is a menage. However, the FMC has coitus (dubiously consensual and not) with someone that she will not end up with—I’ll let you figure out who it is. I don’t technically consider it cheating since she is not emotionally or mentally with any of the men at that point. Back to the consent thing, there’s basically none in this book so if that bothers you, please skip this one. Another hard trigger for some is forced breeding. She does end up pregnant, gives birth, and keeps the child. One of the heavy plot points in the book is the breeding though, so if for whatever reason you aren’t keen on at least one of the males trying to knock the FMC up, then, again, skip this book. There’s bullying. Not as harsh as some of the books I’ve read, but there’s definitely questionable material in this book and as such, the bullies grovel pretty hard. But as with most of my books, the men are villains and make no apologies for their behaviour. One of the guys stalks the FMC, but nearly every book I’ve ever written includes some form of stalking, so if you’ve read any of my past books, you’re used to the sort of material I write. This is pretty damn dark (darker than Rejected King) so please take that into consideration. That’s all, if you’re still reading and feel okay about diving in then I wish you the best of luck. I hope you enjoy my emotionally vacant girl, Arreyah and her dark, possessive guys. Chapter 1 Arreyah The bass vibrated through the floor and into the soles of my flats. Being a whopping inch over five foot and wearing anything but heels in a club packed so full there was hardly enough oxygen for everyone was a dumb idea—according to Zana anyway. Not that she had to worry about being trampled in flats. At a healthy five-foot-eight, she was easily seen. It also made the wiser men in the club less likely to fuck with her. I, however, was subject to assholes getting grabby all night long. On nights like tonight though, I itched for a fight. My skin felt too tight, too rigid. A particularly sweaty guy wearing a basketball jersey that was perfectly designed with a bazillion holes for his body odor to clobber me with, ground his hips against my back. I whirled, lips curling in a sadistic smile. His lazy grin slowly faded, the buzz of alcohol burning away as I grabbed one of his meaty hands and twisted. The snap of bone sounded before his scream of pain rent the air, halting the dancers in our immediate vicinity. Zana was there in an instant, looking from me to him as though trying to determine who started it. I gave her a nonchalant shrug and she quickly decided she didn’t care. Jabbing a long, pointed nail at his chest, she said, “Back the fuck off, creep. She’s too good for you.” The guy held his non-mangled hand up in surrender. “Hey, man, I didn’t do shit. This bitch is crazy!” I bared my teeth in a feral grin. “Bad things happen to guys who think that every female they come across is theirs to use.” “Get lost,” Zana snapped at the guy, and he retreated into the crowd, shaking and whimpering like a beaten animal. I couldn’t help but smirk, though it died when Zana shot me a disapproving look. “What?” I asked innocently. “Do you have to break the fingers on every dude that tries to dance with you? Who knows, you might actually enjoy it if you chill the fuck out every once in a while,” Zana shouted over the thumping of the music. “Guys are cowed by girls who act like they’re not-so-secret serial killers. You haven’t gotten laid in forever, so try being nice.” Swaying my body to the rhythm, I snorted a laugh. “Any guy worth my time would be able to throw off that move before I broke anything. I don’t want a weak ass little bitch in my bed.” Zana rubbed her temples, looking stressed out, but it wasn’t like this was new to her. She and I grew up together. We met on the first day of kindergarten when Kyle O’Riley used scissors to cut Zana’s brand-new dress on the playground and made her cry. I shoved him over the side of the tallest slide. He wasn’t hurt, but he had wailed like he was in front of the entire class, and my dad had been called about what I’d done. We’d been best friends ever since. “Should we get some food?” I
