Unfortunately, I’m attracted to them, and more than I’m proud to admit, I tend to catch the attention of the former rather than the latter. Even the so-called “good guys” turn into douchebags at some point—or maybe they're fuck boys who know how to pull a bait and switch. Either way, I learned far too late in life that instead of being played, one must become the player. I live by a few rules: Leave before you can be left. Don’t catch feelings. Trust no one. And, of course, there are the finer details, like wearing a condom, not getting pregnant, having no more than two sleepovers a week (never consecutive) and not allowing them to find out where you live.
