prophet and endi ON MY BLOCK K.C. MILLS note to readers WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BOOK: Hello, beautiful people: If you’re returning, welcome back. If you’re new... welcome to my crazy world. What you need to know about this book: Slow burn - Although there is chemistry with these two from their first interaction, Prophet and Endi allow things to come together naturally. You know they’re going to be something amazing but I give them time to get there at their own pace. I did not rush their bond. Hood love - There is no cheating or abuse (physical/verbal) however, hood love is a whole vibe that feels good but rarely makes sense. You just know that he or she is your person and you ride for them! Language/Violence/Adult content - There is mention of murder (not shown on page). These are adult characters that were born and raised in the streets. There is an expectation for who they are and how they live! This novel is not connected to any prior novel/series. All main characters are being newly introduced so you will be meeting them for the first time. Trigger Warning: Adult Content - sex, language, violence Please be mindful that the foundation of this story is simply learning how to love and be loved. For those of you that prefer my more romance/contemporary stories, this one might not feed your soul. However, it is not void of my signature style with that alpha male who isn’t afraid to show his heart. If you’re open to falling in love with love, then please proceed! As always, Crafting Romance with an Edge! Sincerely, K.C. Mills ❤️ preface If the streets don’t love you, no one will. If the streets don’t break you, no one can. Endi She loved and lost. Losing him shattered her to pieces. She can be whole again. HE’s the reason. He’s also the reason why her life fell apart. Now, she needs HIM more than she needs air to breathe. Prophet He loved and was betrayed. Betrayal made him disconnect. He can trust again. SHE’s the reason. She’s also the reason he has to face the demons of his past. Now he can’t see a world that exists without HER in it. Copyright © 2023 by K.C. Mills All rights reserved. Normally Endi wouldn’t have been impressed but he was attractive. Six foot three, possibly an inch or two taller. It was hard to gauge his exact height from where they were sitting but he was definitely tall. The man had a nice body which was currently on display from the chest up because he was shirtless like the other members of his team. His golden brown skin was littered with ink which at one time had been one of her weaknesses but was now more or less a warning. Men like this one reminded Endi of her ex. Those memories were hard and over the years she’d managed to settle into a good space so this guy wasn’t anyone she cared to admire. “Yep, you should talk to him. He’s right up your alley.” She flashed her sister Nyelle a mischievous smile. “I would but look at that.” She flicked her wrist, motioning to him once more. This time he was no longer on the court but standing beside it downing a bottle of water. He was surrounded by four women who seemed overly eager for his attention. Endi’s eyes rolled instantly. “Are you surprised? That’s what comes with a man like that. You either accept it or change your preferences.” She shrugged and pulled her lip between her teeth, finishing the last thoughts she had. It was a habit to keep a journal on hand at all times because Endi never knew when inspiration would hit. She could easily pull up Notes on her phone but she was an old soul and there was just something about seeing her thoughts and ideas come to life on paper. “True, but fan club or not, a man like that will make the time you spend with him well worth it. There’s no way he can be that sexy and not be worth the headache attached,” Nyelle chided, tilting her head to the side just as Endi’s eyes followed her line of sight, landing on him. Nyelle was right. He was incredibly sexy but she’d been there, done that, and lost more than she gained. When her eyes rolled up his body to his face for one last peek, she immediately regretted the motion. His were waiting, staring intently while his admirers were too busy fawning over him to realize he wasn’t the least bit interested or maybe he was but not in that exact moment because the way this man was staring at Endi was… Intense. “Well hell, there goes that dream.” “What?” Endi’s head whipped around to Nyelle who rolled her eyes. “You don’t think I saw that little whatever the hell y’all just had?” “Saw what? There was nothing to see.” “The way he was just looking at you was definitely something to see.” Endi quickly waved her off, and closed the journal she’d been scribbling in, securing it in her crossbody. “That man isn’t worried about me and even if he was, it wouldn’t matter. That’s the kind of trouble I don’t want or need. Shoot your shot, Nyelle.” She flashed another smile before tossing her head toward the court. “But you better
