Christian Epilogue Preview of Hots for Mr. Fox About the Author Also by Fel Fern Blurb A burned-out half-fae ex-cop. A new raven shifter taking his first steps into the supernatural world. Christian Avery is not ready to move on. After his humanity was taken away, Christian has trouble adapting to his new life as a raven shifter. He feels stifled by his overprotective flock mates. Just when Christian thinks death is ready to claim him, a gruff half-fae investigator surfaces to save him. Ford Benton is relentless. His sole goal in life is finding the creature who put his partner six-foot under. Meeting his fated mate is an unexpected surprise. When danger closes in, Christian and Ford agree to work together to bring a serial killer down. As Ford becomes closer to Christian, he realizes that there might be more to life than vengeance. Raven Bound is an m/m paranormal romance that features plenty of action and adventure, a grumpy ex-cop and a shy raven shifter who turns his entire life around. Chapter 1 Christian Luminous yellow eyes, followed by a hoot, made me jump. When nothing happened after a few seconds, I relaxed. I squinted into the darkness, recognizing the familiar ash trees of the Moon River Woods and the silhouette of a great barn owl. Despite successfully making the transition from human to raven shifter six months ago, I still hadn’t gotten used to being able to see in the dark. My new body felt alien to me. Sometimes, it also repulsed me, although I would never say that to Zack, my lead alpha, or the other ravens. I got lucky. That was what everyone said, including my best friend Jules and room mate Corey. Few humans survived the Change. That was the reason humans still outnumbered the supernatural. I had been on the verge of death as well, dying from a score of vampire bite marks. By rights, I should be six feet under. Zack called me his miracle raven. He performed the Change. I ought to feel more grateful to him for giving me a second chance at life. Most days I am. Zack welcomed me into his flock without hesitation. The other ravens were good to me. They made me feel welcome as best as they could. However, sleepless nights like these made me feel lonely and lost. When I was human, I had been a nomad. The road was my home. Now, I was stuck here in this sleepy little town, unsure of where fate would take me next. Shifters were social creatures. I needed Zack and the flock more than I cared to admit. As the wind kissed my face and bare arms, I shivered. I’d forgotten to bring my jacket again. I made a mental reminder to leave my jacket near my bed the next time I went on my nightly walk. A branch creaked. I spun on my heel. Two feral golden eyes stared back at me. Those eyes did not belong to an owl. My heart raced. Sweat beaded my back. The Moon Burrow Ravens shared these woods with a ferocious group of were bears. The bears were here first and had given Zack and the others a new home when they lost theirs. The gold eyes disappeared. The bear shifter retreated, probably deeming I wasn’t a threat. The ravens and bears in Moon Burrow had a symbiotic relationship. The bears kept us and the territory of Moon Burrow safe while the ravens scouted and spied on their behalf. That bear alpha must’ve considered me an oddity, seeing me in human form. Most of my brethren preferred to take on their second form. Why wouldn’t they? We had wings, a luxury ground-based shifters did not possess. I recalled the morning I’d woken up in a horrid, hybrid bird-man form and shuddered. The last time I tasted that much fear, a vengeful vampire had taken me captive. Even now, I could still remember the acrid taste of terror in my mouth. Flying was not an option, not until I overcame my recent fear. I hiked a little further south and arrived at my favorite spot in the woods. Seeing the small peaceful meadow with a bubbling brook nearby, I let out a sigh of relief. I approached the brook and splashed some water on my face. Feeling refreshed, I studied my reflection in the water. A pale and thin young man with dark gold hair and tired hazel eyes looked back at me. I hardly recognized myself. A flap of wings made me wary. A large raven the size of a cat landed on the nearby fallen log next to me. He carried a thin pair of jogging
