The scent and soft murmurs of his new friend floated in the air, making him feel safe. The young man stayed with him, caring for his wounds; he nurtured his thin body with milk and honey to keep him hydrated and fed, holding him in his protective embrace with kindness and affection. Except to relieve himself with Ahote’s help, Eliott had barely opened his eyes during that time, but he sensed he didn’t have to since, for as long as he’d been in the warrior’s nest, his presence had been forgotten or ignored by everyone else.He moaned softly and huddled closer. It was a pleasant dream, and it felt good to be warm and stretched out on a bed instead of curled up in a tiny ball in a dark, dank hole; it was good to feel another man's body against him, a pleasure that he had briefly tasted with Brekken, but hadn't fully enjoyed since his short time with the pack.Ahote shifted in his sleep and turned so he was facing Eliott. The boy gasped a little as the sleeping man embraced him loosely and pressed him against his naked torso. Eliott could feel Ahote's limp cock against his thigh but, after the initial shock, he relaxed his shoulders and rested his head against Ahote's hard brown chest. It felt good to mingle his scent with another of this strange pack. Maybe they would accept him more easily once his smell changed.I am protected by someone now, and the alpha allowed me into their pack…. He thought hopeful. Maybe now it can be like it was back home. I can be one of them…. He didn’t know if his new protector saw him as a helpless puppy that needed looking after, or if the beautiful man had any attraction or interest toward him, but Ahote was putting his reputation on the line by doing this and he could only dream that, maybe, in time, his host might develop feelings for him. In his brief experience, back in Agnes’ pack, mates were accepted and respected by all, and their union brought structure and integrity to the tribe. He had never felt that before but, for the first time, he knew that the man resting next to him could be his partner and this remote enclave could be his new home. But, in the New World, things were very different. Eliott was not at home, and he might never be again. It was late noon. One aspect of animals that the wolf-men had inherited was the ability to always know what time of day it was. Eliott was hungry, thirsty, and he had to relieve himself. He tentatively sat up, trying to squirm out of those strong protective arms without waking his host.Ahote groaned softly and put an arm around Eliott's thin shoulders, pulling him back down. Eliott let out an annoyed little grunt and struggled out of Ahote's arms. The man rubbed the sleep from his eyes and grinned at the slender redhead, who returned a shy little smile. He was shivering, and the meager fire in the wigwam had burned to ashes. Ahote looked over the boy's thin body; he wanted to touch Eliott, to feel that strange pale skin, to fondle those tender pink nubs on his chest and to feel that hair like red corn-silk between his fingers. But first he needed to take care of the fragile boy.Ahote got up and yawned. Eliott shyly glanced over Ahote's body as well. His host had a lean, dark physique, darker than the others in the tribe, and with an angular frame. He had long, coarse, black hair that he tied behind him with a band made of woven grass, letting it fall freely to his mid-back. That made the young man stand out from all the other men in the tribe who wore heads partially or fully shaved.Ahote
