Excerpt “Let’s go.” His warm hand clasped hers, and he propelled her along the corridor to the elevator. It dinged, opened, and she was against the wall with Aidan’s hands on either side of her head, blue eyes boring into hers. “I want answers, Aidan.” “I work for the FBI. Marco Dentzi wants you, but I don’t know why yet. My team is close though.” “I want to see everything.” “No, Tessa.” Her chin lifted under his dominant stance and stare. How dare he after what happened. She’d tolerated his attitude, the abrupt dismissals, the treating her like a common employee in the office, the rudeness, the secrets, and his overbearing nature. “Fuck you. If you weren’t such a good lay, I’d have gone with the other agent. I almost…I don’t even know what, so tell me everything.” She didn’t expect the naughty grin or the knowing glint in his eyes. When he licked his lips, her gaze dropped to his mouth. Adrenaline surged in her system, or shock, or both, heightening every emotion to a dangerous level. The full length of his hard body pressed into hers, and she sharply inhaled. “Stop.” “You chose me.” “Fuck you, Aidan,” she whispered, before licking his lips and placing her hands on his hips. “Fuck you for bending the rules and hiding the truth and fuck this thing between us. I want to leave the state. I need to go far away. You’re in danger. I’m in danger. They tapped into both our phones somehow. That’s why I came downstairs. It won’t stop.” His chuckle against her mouth sent warmth pooling into her stomach, and tingles igniting in her sex. “Give me your phone.” “Again?” She handed it to him at the same time he withdrew his and watched him turn the power off to both. “These go to the trash. Problem solved.” She started to turn away, duck from under his arms, but he grasped her jaw and chin, not allowing the movement. “I’m going to fuck you all weekend, I’m going to fill your mouth with more than profanities, and I’m going to do it all while ensuring you remain safe.” “You should go visit your secretary.” Why did she say that? It was too late now because the jealous monster spoke without thought. His face tilted and his eyes narrowed to thin slits. “I don’t want Sherry and never have. She’s dead anyway. I don’t know why she said that when I’ve never given her any reason to believe I was interested. You’re the first employee I’ve ever become involved with, and you’ll be the last.” “Dead? A person is dead because of me? After this case is solved, it’s over.” His body pressed into hers a bit harder. “No.” “No?” “Hell no, and this is why.” She wasn’t prepared for this type of kiss. Lust was one thing, but his tongue swirling in her mouth laced with emotion set her heart aflame. This wasn’t supposed to happen…ever, but she didn’t know how to stop it as she met his mouth with a need that matched his. When the kiss ended, they were both breathless and hot. The elevator doors opened, but they didn’t move. Tessa licked her lips and peeped under his arm when someone cleared their throat. “Should we wait for another elevator?” The older woman politely asked. Embarrassment colored her cheeks, but Aidan didn’t seem to mind. “That won’t be necessary,” he answered for her, linked his
