She cried even harder when she did that. I didn’t look away from her face. I didn’t want to see her blood. She was bleeding before. When she wanted to come home early, she was embarrassed to tell me she had gotten her period for the first time. I wish that was the only blood she came across today. I wish I had made fun of her for it and made her stay in school. My fragile, sweet sister. I try to reach out to her. I wanted to hold her hand like it could transfer her pain to mine. I wanted to help her. I would die for her. But Ricci held my hand back. He went harder, faster. Just when he came, I whispered so low only I was able to hear, “I am going to kill you.”
