Dating rule number two: don't date your boss.Polly has been working for billionaire mastermind Lexi Weston for five years.During that time, she's watched Lexi fall in and out of love over and over again. No one seems to be able to satisfy the wealthy woman with the penchant for hand-knitted scarves. Then one huge mistake changes everything.Polly finds herself trapped at a work event she wasn't invited to and trying to juggle vendors and guests while keeping Lexi happy. Then a snowstorm hits, and she's even more trapped with her boss.Only, Lexi isn't as terrible as Polly thinks she is.In fact, she's actually kind of...Spicy.The second date rule is a steamy billionaire WLW romance with a guaranteed happy ending. 1 Polly stared at her boss, Lexi, and frowned. The beautiful woman was much too pretty to be such a raging bitch. Did Lexi even know what people at work thought of her? More importantly, did she even care? Polly didn’t think so. Polly knew that there was more to the billionaire CEO than met the eye. She knew Lexi had a sweet side. She’d seen it. In fact, it was why she was currently completely obsessed with the woman standing in the conference room. Polly was just outside in the hallway, staring in the glass windows to the room. She watched as Lexi presented an idea to a group of businesspeople who probably thought she was much scarier than she was. Lexi could do that to people. Lexi Weston was the kind of woman who would walk into a room demanding respect from everyone there, but then completely ignore anything anyone offered up as suggestions. Sometimes she’d spin things around and make you think that her suggestions were your idea, which made them feel better and stronger. Sometimes, though, people would walk out of meetings with Lexi feeling worse than they’d ever felt in their lives. People would still do business with her, of course. She was wildly rich and successful, after all. They’d just resent Lexi because she was, after all, a total bitch. In some ways, Polly felt like she was wrong for feeling this way. You didn’t get to be a billionaire by taking suggestions from people, but Lexi took things to the extreme. Polly was probably just salty. She’d had a crush on Lexi for a long time, and she was certain people around the office had figured it out. She never came right out and said that she liked Lexi, of course, but it was probably pretty obvious once people actually saw them together. Polly worried she constantly gave puppy-dog eyes to Lexi, but maybe she was just being self-conscious. People walked around Polly, making their way through the busy hall and ignoring the fact that she was standing just outside of the conference room holding coffee. Just go in. Nothing bad will happen. Pushing her shoulders back, Polly stood up a little straighter. Lexi was always complaining that Polly didn’t stand up straight enough, but she did. In fact, since taking the job at Weston Industries, Polly had been taking yoga and Pilates in an effort to strengthen her core and help improve her posture. Lexi hadn’t noticed. Then again, it wasn’t Lexi’s job to notice her employees and their posture. “Are you sure you want to go in there?” Megan, the administrative assistant who worked on the fifth floor, sidled up to Polly. The two of them stood side-by-side peering into the conference room where Lexi was walking back and forth in front of a group of men. She was smiling, but it wasn’t a bright smile. It was more of a fierce smile that let everyone know she played seriously. Lexi always played to win. “No,” Polly shook her head. She wasn’t sure at all. Her phone buzzed and she reached for it, pulling it out of her blazer pocket. “Don’t take that,” Megan warned her. “You should get the witch her coffee and get back to work.” Megan was probably right, but Polly was grateful for the distraction. It wasn’t a call, though. It was just texts from her best friends, Kara and Sadie. Their little group had been planning a brunch for tomorrow morning, but Polly wasn’t sure if it was going to happen. She was going to blame it on her “students,” but really it was because of Lexi. Five years ago, when Polly had started working for Lexi, Kara and Sadie had been worried about the amount of work that Polly was putting in. They were both worried that Polly was losing her “work-life” balance. Since her degree was in elementary education and there was a school just down the road, Polly told her friends she was going to change career paths and try to become an elementary school teacher. When she’d gone to Lexi with her plan to quit in an attempt to find a better balance, Lexi had counter-offered her a 5-figure raise, and Polly had reluctantly accepted it. She hadn’t told her friends. She felt bad about it now, of course. The fact that she’d basically betrayed her besties didn’t feel good in any way. Still, the job and the raise meant that Polly had a lot of disposable income, which she used to donate to her local animal shelter and spoil her friends on occasion. She’d also saved up enough money that she was planning to buy a house in the next few months, as long as everything went well. And as long as she didn’t randomly quit or get fired. She didn’t want to work for Lexi forever, but she was trying to take advantage of the opportunity that had fallen into her lap. “She’s been in there an hour,” Megan told Polly, jerking her head back toward the conference room. She wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that she was gawking through the glass. Polly, at least, had turned to the side. If Lexi glanced up, she would think that Polly was
