There’s a text message from one of my clients for this weekend staring back at me. She’s canceling the photo shoot. Apparently, the entire family has a stomach bug. Yuck.I quickly type out a message telling her it’s not a problem and to contact me when everyone is better and up for taking photos, then we can reschedule.Shuffling on the other side of the door draws my attention and I quickly slip my phone into my back pocket. This is my first time meeting this client and I truly believe first impressions matter. The door swings open and my eyes practically bulge out of my head at the man standing in front of me. There’s no freaking way!“Can I help you?” His eyes sweep over me and he carefully watches me.“Nate? Shit, I must have the wrong address… I’m looking for Addison Robinson…”“You have the right address. Come on in.” He steps back, holding his arm out for me to enter the home.He stares at me, tilting his head to the side to examine me. It’s the same exact thing his brother used to do. Shit, why does he have to do these little things so much like his twin. They look different and their personalities couldn’t be more opposite, but there are tiny things they both do.“What’s your name?”“Olivia,” I whisper, glancing around to make sure we’re alone. His brows furrow together for a moment before they raise in surprise. I see the exact moment he makes the connection and his mouth parts.“Olivia Bennett?”“Yes.”“Damn! How have you been? I haven’t seen you since you went to live with your dad.”“Oh, um… good. I’m doing pretty good. How are you?”“Great. I just started my own accounting company.” He’s grinning from ear to ear and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of Nate. He’s always worked so hard to achieve the things he’s wanted in life.I’m trying to pay attention to what Nate’s saying but I can't stop glancing around the entire time. Hoping and praying I don’t see him.“Please tell me he doesn’t live here too,” I whisper, squeezing my eyes shut. I can't say his name, I won't say it. I don’t want to see him and I definitely don’t want to talk to him.“Who? Lincoln?” Nate asks, tilting his head to the side again. His brows draw together in confusion. He never knew. I try to remind myself but I'm seconds away from having a nervous breakdown.“Of course, Lincoln!” I murmur his name like it’s painful to say because guess what? It’s extremely painful. That asshole broke my damn heart and ran over it a million times. “I’m sorry, Olivia. He lives here, but I'm not sure where he is right now.” No sooner are the words out of his mouth, do I hear a voice behind me and my whole body tenses. I squeeze my eyes shut and pray he won’t talk to me. He sounds like the same boy from my memories except his voice is deeper and more gravely now. “Who do we have here?” Lincoln’s flirty voice is smooth as molasses. I curse the butterflies taking flight in my stomach. I don’t want to have any reaction to Lincoln, voluntary or involuntary. If I have to react to him at all, I want to feel hatred. My gaze finds Nate, his eyes hold so much concern and sympathy.“If he doesn’t recognize me, please don’t tell him who I am,” I beg quietly. Nate gives me a small nod, his gaze full of sympathy. I wonder if Lincoln told him about any of the things that happened between us. I'm willing to guess he didn’t.I take a deep breath before turning around to face the person who destroyed my whole world four years ago. My jaw almost drops at the sight of Lincoln all grown up. I manage to keep my cool, but only externally. Internally I'm freaking out and wondering if you can have a
