 ABOUT THE BOOK
 
 'Mercy Said No' is a short story between two friends Bobby and Nero who had been best friends since their childhood. But the unsatisfactory life of Nero girlfriends resorted to them seeking to date both friends. Bobby having made the first mistake had vowed not to repeat the same mistake. Mercy like her predecessors won't give up and is determined to either have the two of them or separate the two friends. And thus, MERCY SAID NO, Bobby must either accept her or defend their friendship.

 Chapter One
 
 This is what happened.
 Before our grade one, everybody in the environment knew who is Bobby and as well Nero.
 Nero and I have been best friends since childhood. I was known for my humility, obedience and stammering, but what Nero was known for, I can't tell. He was neither opposite nor similar to my personality and he was neither in between.
 
 We were brought up from the same community, same street, went to the same primary school and college but we were ignorant of each other's age because neither of us could tell, nor our parents. But we've been friends from when we did not know how to say "1,2 or A,B,C". Maybe my parents were ignorant of Nero's date of birth and so are his parents. They never bother to tell us, but I've been wondering how old Nero is and he will never tell me. But my look and character will make you think I'm five years older than Nero, and even wants to fight me for him.
 
 Everything changed when I became the Prince charming to Nero girlfriends.
 Luck and star shines to people differently.
 We've come of age, we know what is good and what is bad.
 
 Nero was a lover of girls, so was I.
 He swims in their river but I don't. I'll really love to do like Nero, have lot of girlfriends, go out with them, swim in their rivers, but those opposite sex are sometimes bunch of distraction when you're not dating only one person. I have a girlfriend whom we meet in our spare time. It's called dating with focus.
 
 "Change is inevitable" as the saying goes! Who among us is going to change, I nor Nero? Lol, that's left to time to decide.
 
 "Bobby, how far?" Said Nero
 I couldn't imagine Nero coming to my place by that time. He had earlier in the day told me that he'll be coming to my place in the evening. And this was about 00:30hr in the morning when he knocked at my gate.
 "Is this your evening?" I asked when I opened the gate.
 Nero looked at me for a moment and pushed me aside, chewing gum.
 "God…, what's wrong with you Nero, you're drunk again?"
 "A drunk wouldn't know his way home, and sometimes it is good to stay late, coming home when nobody expects". He said, dragging a lady behind him. I noticed the lady with him is someone new, not his regular and the Lady was staring at me the way all his girlfriends always do.
 
 "Beauty" they say it's for girls and in the hearts of men with integrity.
 "Handsome" am I? I doubt, then, what's so peculiar about me with these girls?
 If every girl were to be admiring me as Nero girlfriends, then, what would have been of me by now? King Solomon in the Bible was the one going after the women, but in my case, women are the ones coming after me, and if I'd succumbed to it, I would have definitely matched the King's number. 
 
 "Guy….meet my Angel, Mercy" said Nero
 "Hi Mercy, welcome to my humble abode". As every young guy will do, I welcomed her.
 "Mercy, this is Bobby, the calmest, the snatcher, pain killer, the most secretive guy I've ever known and seen," Nero introduced me.
 "Guy… you're out of your mind to introduce me that way. Anyways, I doubt I'm calm, a snatcher, nor secretive. I'm just me", I said while walking away from the two to take my position on the bed.
 
 I wasn't interested in those familiarities as I was already in cloud six heading to seven when he woke me, so I was damn too sleepy to comprehend those things.
 The bed was big enough to contain four to five of us
 Mercy followed suit, dragging Nero with her. She was trying to get my attention.
 
 "So you're the Bobby I've been hearing of?" Said Mercy!
 "I doubt you've heard anything good about me", I countered.
 "Pleasure to meet you Bobby"
 "Pleasure is mine"
 "I think that's enough", Nero interrupts.
 "Don't be jealous…" Mercy continued!
 I broke in with one of my usual slogans, 'jealousy is of the little minds
