I stared at the glossy sheet of paper my new roommate shoved in my face and scowled. “Me? Audition for a reality dating show? I waved them off, and they continued snapping photos in front of the famous Hollywood landmark. Turning back to my friend, I hissed, “I was rejected by my fated mate and ran away to the human world with my tail between my legs. Do I need to replay the horrible story for you again?” “Aspen, we all have bad break-ups. The guy I was dating last month was cheating on me with our trainer. I knew he’d been spending too many days at the gym for his ass to still sag like that.” I snorted on a laugh, shaking my head and a few strands of my blonde mane whipped across my face. “That’s not even close to what happened to me. At seventeen, I’d been shipped off to attend university in the shifter realm of Marlwoods to learn to control my wolf. Spoiler alert – I never shifted. My wolf remained in hiding the entire time, and I was deemed safe to return to the human world. It would’ve been a happy ending had I not met my supposed wolfy fated mate while at the university.
