Prologue In the sprawling city of Fulgar, nestled in a verdant valley beneath towering mountains, Pomius watched as the sky lit up with bursts of lightning. He had seen many storms in his long life, but this one differed. The air crackled with energy, and he could feel the magic coursing through his veins. Pomius was a human, one of the inhabitants of the planet of Prixa. He had lived in Fulgar his whole life and had seen many strange and wondrous things in that time. But lately, things had taken a dark turn. For generations, the humans of Fulgar had coexisted peacefully with the Feka, a race of cat warriors who wielded creation magic as effortlessly as they did their weapons. But long ago, a massive battle had broken out between the Shadowalkers, monstrous werewolves and vicious canine creatures who lurked in the shadows in a faraway city, and the Feka and the humans had fled like cowards. An agreement had come into place between the humans and Feka to keep the humans with magic a secret and guard the pass leading to their hidden city. Now, only a handful of Feka knew of the city's existence. The old warriors were gone, and the magical humans were forgotten except by a small batch of the highest-ranking felines. Non-magical humans were traded and bred as tribute to be owned by the Feka. The Feka were fierce, proud, and loyal. Pomius had always respected them. But now, tensions were running high. The Shadowalkers hadn’t forgotten. The alpha had lived through surprisingly many seasons and had vengeance in his evil heart. Rumors had been circulating for weeks that a newly united band of Shadowalker packs had emerged and were planning an attack on the Feka again. The Feka, it was said, could not survive an all-out attack from the monsters, and the Shadowalkers would launch a full-scale assault on Fulgar after their destruction of the capital Fekan city of Fayport. He wasn't sure if that was true, but there was too much to lose not to take the reports seriously, especially when they came from a feline with farsight powers. The humans of Fulgar were not defenseless, of course. They had their magic, most notably, the power to wield fire and lightning with deadly precision against their enemies. But even with their formidable abilities, they knew they were no match for the combined forces of the Shadowalkers’ many packs. There were just not enough mages and too many canine monsters. That was why they had hatched a plan to save their city. Pomius had been present at the council meeting when the plan had been proposed. A group of humans, led by a man named Marcus, had devised a daring idea: they would teleport someone from another planet to help them in their fight. Someone who could create, like the days of old. Someone who could add more magic to the world. The old wizards had searched for many days and nights, scouring world after world. With their lightning powers, they could flash in and out of faraway atmospheres and gain vision of the world, searching for large quantities of mana within individuals. This was time-consuming, of course, and drained tons of mana. But it was the price that was demanded. The man they had chosen was a young wizard named Noah, who hailed from a planet called Earth. According to Marcus, Noah could become one of the most powerful wizards in the universe and would be able to turn the tide of the battle in their favor. He had the perfect mixture of skills to create mighty mage armies and turn Prixa into a human powerhouse. Pomius had been skeptical at first. Teleportation was risky, not to mention extremely costly. Space magic was the third element after air and fire, and extremely rare among mages. It would take all six teleportation mages almost three seasons to recover from such an event. And the idea of bringing a stranger to their world to fight their battles seemed foolhardy at best. But the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. They had nothing to lose and everything to gain. When he arrived, they would finalize their plans. As the storm raged overhead, Pomius watched as the humans of Fulgar made their final preparations. They gathered in the town square in front of the scryer and waited for the moment when the Earthling would arrive. Pomius didn't know what the future held, but he knew one thing for sure: the fate of their world hung in the balance, and only time would tell if they had made the right
