Other Works by Michelle Miller PROLOGUE Angelique Ash, avidly known as Angel, sat with her best friend, Bree, in the attorney’s office, dreading what was to come. She should not be here. None of this should have been happening in the first place. It was too soon. Life as she knew it changed in the blink of an eye. She looked to her right and saw the man that she believed caused the chain of events that led them here. Her stepfather. She had no proof, but she would find it, depending on what came to light after the event she dreaded most. The reading of her mother’s will. Angel entered her own headspace. The attorney had walked in and sat behind his desk. He started the proceedings a moment later. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed her stepfather sitting with a smirk on his face. She knew what he thought, he thought he was receiving everything her mother had. She knew different. As the attorney read the contents of the will, her stepfather’s face turned redder the more he found out. All her mother’s property, her house, all her financials and the club all belonged to Angel now. “This will is not to be contested.” Angel snapped back to attention when she heard the last line. Her stepfather stood and thew a tantrum in his usual fashion. His temper left something to be desired. “That cannot be right! It was supposed to be left to me!!” Angel heard two strong fists slam the top of the desk that belonged to her mother’s attorney. She turned her head and stared into the enraged face of the man she believed killed her mother. He continued to rant. “She deserves nothing! I was her husband! She is a mere child! She will ruin everything!” The attorney rose from his desk, his jaw was set. He spoke, highly irritated. “Mr. Reed, I suggest you sit down and calm yourself. If you choose not to you can leave my office of your own accord or we can do this the hard way. Your late wife’s last wishes have been stated. There is nothing else that can be done.” “This is a bunch of bullshit!!” He turned to his stepdaughter on the way out. “You have not seen the last of me little girl! This is far from over!” “I never presumed anything otherwise, Mr. Reed. Come near me or mine and there will be a fight on your hands.” Angel did not realize the words came out of her mouth until they did. She knew there would be anger. She even knew there would be hatred. There was no love lost between the two. She knew he beat her mother to a bloody pulp the night she died. She knew he made it look like a home invasion. That was one of the reasons her mother started the Avenging Angels MC. To help women in precarious situations by men that needed a little help to leave. Angel was no stranger to the MC lifestyle; her mother started the club when her biological father left them when she was three. Her father was a former Marine. Her parents met when Annie, Angel’s mother, was twenty-two and her father was twenty-six. They married shortly after. A year later, Angel came into their lives. While in the Marine’s her father had been a sniper and suffered from severe episodes of
