The sun streaming down between the trees splashes spots of light on the concrete road in front of me as Mia’s giggle turns to a laugh. I can’t help but smile at her humor. “That's not even the terrible part.” She pauses for a second, as if trying to catch her breath. “After I refused to kiss him because our date went so wrong, he offered to take me to a sex club.” The audacity of some of the men she goes on dates with still leaves me stunned. “So you told him no kiss, told him there wouldn't be a second date, and he decided to ask you to go to a sex club, of all things.” I shake my head as I come to a stop at a stop sign. “Exactly!” She sounds as disbelieving as I feel, which is impressive, since she dealt with him.
