Fallon Epilogue one Faking innocence gets harder with each tiny piece of my soul I give up. It’s been so long—well over a decade—since I was that sweet, innocent teenage omega with hope in her heart and stars in her eyes. Fuck. I can’t even reconcile that image in my head with the reality I now face. Oh, sure, when I look in the mirror, I see the big, bright blue eyes and Cupid’s bow lips that give the impression of a youthful sort of purity most can’t see past. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Didn’t their mama tell them to never judge a book by its cover? The alpha’s breath is hot against my lips, bringing me back to the situation at hand. I suppose I should count myself lucky that he at least brushed his teeth because I’m getting intimately acquainted with all of his scents right now thanks to his large body boxing me against the on-call room wall. The smell of freshly mowed grass doused in antiseptic is especially displeasing. I fight back a sneeze, barely managing to hide the disgust from my face when one of his hands lands beside my head. The other finds my hip, and I fight down the instinct to break his wrist for touching me. “Well, aren’t you a sweet little piece?” Running his nose along my jaw and down my neck, he nuzzles into me, marking me with his scent. Any alpha should know better than to do that to an unbonded omega, but this shithead doesn’t care. When he finally pulls back, his pupils are blown wide, and barely concealed lust drips out of damn near every pore in his body. His alpha pheromones fill the small space around us, the scent so thick it’s almost suffocating. Good thing I can hold my breath for a really long time. “It’s time to give you the new intern orientation. You see, there are some rules that have to be followed at this hospital, Fallon, if you want to be successful. Would you like to hear what they are?” I lick my lips, playing up my nervousness by glancing at the sole door in the room. “Ah ah. No one will interrupt us while we’re in here. They know the drill,” he explains with a smarmy smirk plastered on his devilishly handsome face. “Which means your only job right now is to focus on me, and only me, do you understand?” Nodding, I bow my head, being the good lil’ omega by deferring to his natural alpha aggression. “Good,” he growls. “First rule—I’m the one in charge here. You do what I say, when I say it.” When his hand roughly grabs my breast through the scrubs, I try to look appropriately shocked, parting my lips and letting out a soft gasp. His grin grows wider. “Second rule—what happens in the ER, stays in the ER.” He kneads and squeezes, his fingers finding my nipple through the fabric and pinching hard. His eyes have left mine, watching himself fondle me. The fact that I’m completely unwilling doesn’t mean shit to him. Sick fuck. While he’s not looking at my face, I drop the innocent act and very carefully reach into my back pocket where my little surprise is waiting oh so helpfully. I can feel my lips curving up and allow myself a second of smugness. “God, you’re fucking perfect. Where in the hell did they find you? They definitely got it right this time,” he murmurs reverently. Yes. Yes, they did. They chose very well. The grin disappears just as he looks up. “Now, third rule—if you ever open those pouty little lips of yours, I’ll make sure you never get to do it again.” And there it is. The reason this emergency room can’t seem to keep good nurses on staff for more than a week. This motherfucker uses them like a perpetually changing omega buffet provided solely for his pleasure. But that stops tonight. I tilt my head. “Are you done?” A slow growl works itself up in his chest. “Maybe you misheard me.” “Oh, I don’t think so. You think you’re hot shit, don’t you, Phillip?” He pulls back the slightest bit, which works to my advantage, his body vibrating with fury. “Excuse me?” “Big bad ER doctor who needs to rape innocent women just to get off.” His eyes narrow, anger drawing his mouth into a tight line. In seconds, I find myself spun around, my cheek hitting the textured wall with enough force to make me wince. If the fucker leaves a bruise, I’m going to be pissed. His arm is braced against my upper back, his mouth against my ear. “Maybe I wasn’t clear. You don’t make the rules. I do. You’re nothing but a weak omega, and I’m the alpha here. Your alpha until I decide I’m done with you. Got it?” he snarls. That grassy smell of his has turned sharp, tickling my nose, but
