TYSON EPILOGUE - HALEY Accidental Baby for the Billionaire Sneak Peek PROLOGUE - AVA 1 HALEYI knew my day was going to shit when my vibrator died halfway to the first orgasm I would have had in months. Walking into Carrie’s in search of a consolation milkshake just made it worse when I saw the only man who had given me multiple orgasms in one night sitting behind the booth we used to share in high school. Tyson Dallas hadn’t aged at all in the four years since we last saw each other. He was still wearing his dark hair in a carefully arranged mess, and his brown eyes shone bright. He glanced up from his menu as the waitress approached, his eyes locking with mine. Heat pooled between my legs the moment those hazel brown eyes lifted to mine, a smile stretching over his face. Ever friendly, he waved me over, calling my name, and I didn’t know what to do. People were watching our interaction, and I was sure they recognized him. Tyson lived in this town for years before leaving New York with his friends. He and I were that couple in high school. The ones that the whole town thought would defy the odds and end up happily married. How wrong they were. Taking a deep breath, I walked across the diner and slid into the seat across from him. I didn’t know what I was going to say to him or how to start a conversation we should have had years ago. Maybe I could start with please fuck me against the hood of your car until this damn sexual frustration fades away, I thought as I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans. “Haley,” he said with a smile. “You look amazing. How’ve you been doing?” “You look pretty good yourself,” I said, hating how my cheeks warmed. If only he knew what I was really thinking. “I’ve been doing pretty good.” I didn’t miss how Doris, the waitress, raised her eyebrows and gave Tyson a small smile. “Seeing you two together again sure is something,” Doris said as she looked between the pair of us. “Just wait until I tell Reggie.” “Doris, you don’t have to do that,” I said, blushing as I brushed my blonde hair back behind one ear. “We’re just going to get some food and catch up.” Tyson chuckled. “I can’t believe Reggie’s still the cook.” “I can’t believe that you little shits still have your names carved into that booth,” Reggie said, his voice booming through the diner as he walked out of the kitchen. He grinned as he wiped his hands on his apron. “Good to see you again,” Tyson said, getting up to hug Reggie. “How’s the business been?” “Steady as always. You’ve done well for yourself,” Reggie said as he ruffled Tyson’s hair.“Come on,” Doris said as she towed Reggie back toward the kitchen. “Leave them alone and start making their lunch.” “You didn’t even take their order,” Reggie said, still bickering with her even as she shoved him through the kitchen door. “Make their usual.” Tyson grimaced as he sat back down before offering me a blinding smile that had my heart skipping a beat. He draped an arm along the back of the booth and fixed me with a stare that I had seen too many times when we were young. Couple that with his light stubble and his flannel shirt, and it was like time stopped weeks before we graduated high school. “It’s been a few years since we saw each other last,” Tyson said. “How’ve you been?” “Doing well. Just moved back to town a little less than a year ago. Figured it was time to finally settle down. What are you doing here?” “I’m looking for a way to get out of the entertainment sector of Crestwood Capital and focus more on investing in small businesses. I’m here for the day to sign a contract on one of the failing businesses on Main Street before I head back to the city tomorrow morning.” “I hate to take up any more of your time,” I said, getting ready to stand up and make a run for the door. “Haley, sit down and stop looking like I’m about to lose my shit.” “Well, last time we saw each other, you freaked out about sleeping together before racing back to your perfect life,” I said, wondering if this would turn into another fight. I was thirty-seven. I was too old to be arguing with my ex-boyfriend in public. “Hales, I don’t want to sit here and argue with you. I’m too old for that shit. I’ve got more on my plate to deal with than rehashing everything that happened between us.” I stared at him, wondering who the hell was sitting in front of me. He was nothing like I remembered him from our last encounter. “Well then, tell me about your life,” I said as Doris set milkshakes and plates of burgers and fries between us. “Thanks, Doris.” “Anytime, honey.” While Doris chatted with
