I don’t know how many times I can pace this room before my head explodes. No one will tell me a damn thing. “Where the fuck did Ghost go?” I ask Nik. Nik checks his phone. “I don’t know. But he’s been gone for a while.” No sooner than those words leave his mouth, my phone pings with a message. I jerk it out of my pocket and swipe open Ghost’s chat screen. Ghost Tink has Caden and Bridget. Grant said if I come home, he’ll release them. I’m leaving now. Please take care of them. Fear flashes through me, and right on its heels is white-hot anger. He’s going to fucking run after everything? I shoot off a message. What?! Are you fucking stupid?! When he doesn’t answer, I call him continuously to no avail. What the fuck is he thinking? “What the hell is going on?” Nik asks, grabbing my arm to stop me from pacing. I feel like my heart is going to explode out of my chest. I have no damn idea what’s going on with my brother and Banger, Tink has Bridget and Caden, and Ghost is running off to get fucking slaughtered. The room feels like it’s shrinking in on me. “Lex, what the fuck?” “He left,” I grit out, raking my hand through my hair. “And Tink has Bridget and Caden.” I don’t know what to do. Half of my body is pulling me to find them, and the other half is holding me here. “What?” Nik asks, his face draining of all color. I dial Ghost again, and it goes straight to voicemail. I pull up his chat screen and start firing off messages. I will kill him when I get my hands on him if his dad doesn’t do it first. Answer your goddamn phone. Ghost! You motherfucker!! “FUCK!” I yell, startling the people down the hallway. I fumble with my phone, pulling up the one person I know that can get to him in time. Hopefully. She’s already on her way to the hospital, and I know she’ll drive like a bat out of hell. “Hello?” Les answers. I ramble off everything going on, fighting the urge to fall apart. “You stay there, and I’ll get him. Do you think he went to your house?” “I don’t know,” I say miserably. “Don’t fall apart now,” she says, but I can hear the quiver in her voice. “You make sure Dmitri and Banger are okay. We’ll find him.” The call disconnects, and all the fight leaves my body. I sink down into a chair heavily, and Nik sits beside me. “I can’t do this.” “Yes. You can,” Nik says evenly. “They have Bridget and Caden,” I whisper. My mind starts conjuring every fucked up thing that can happen. “Nothing can happen to them.” “We’ll find them,” Nik says, gripping my arm.
