He lets out a pathetic groan as my fist crashes into him once again. His blood beginning to spill down his face and my hand. “This can end whenever you are ready to talk.” At this point, I know I am just toying with him, but I enjoy it. Ellis is so weak after the past few hours, that he is barely able to look up at me. I mostly just see his bloody, fluttering eyelids before his chin drops back down to his chest. “For a piece of shit that couldn’t keep his mouth shut about the family business, you sure seem to be holding your tongue now.” Someone has been destroying our safe houses and businesses – both legal and illegal. Once we realized that the serial arsonist was primarily targeting Botticelli business, we quickly determined that it was personal. Someone coming for the family. After a few places known only to the family were set on fire, we realized that the information regarding just what businesses we own has to be coming from someone on the inside. It took a few months, but thanks in part to some well-planted lies, we think we have finally found our mole. “If you want this to end, you are going to need to tell me who the fuck you’ve been talking to.” “I can’t,” Ellis replies back, his voice trembling as though he is about to cry, “They will kill me.” “You stupid fuck,” I glare back at him while picking my knife back up from the table, “I’m going to fucking kill you if you don’t start talking.” Shifting the knife in my hand, getting comfortable with its feel in my grip, I slowly bringing it down his chest. His screams are of pure agony as my knife shifts from the tip to the blade, slowly fileting a sliver of skin from his chest. It is a stark contrast to the smile of pure euphoria slowly spreading across my face. “I can’t,” tears now rolling down his face as he continues to cry out, “They will kill my family.” Fuck… I might be a brutal son of bitch, but I am not going to kill his innocent wife and daughter. They won’t be welcome in this city anymore, but I tend not to kill the innocent regardless of who they are connected to. The knife in my hand beautifully separates another piece of his flesh from his body. Throwing his skin to the floor, I press my knife firmly against his neck. “What makes you think I won’t kill your fucking family,” my eyes narrow as I pose my question to him, “maybe I’ll even enjoy some time with that beautiful young wife of yours before I kill her.” His reaction takes me by complete surprise, and people rarely surprise me. Ellis violently jerks in his chair causing the knife in my hand to slice through the thin skin by his jugular. The self-inflicted wound is going to be just deep enough to be fatal. Slow as fuck, but fatal. “Fuck,” I grumble, throwing the knife to the ground as I watch his blood pump from his neck. Back to square fucking one… “Get rid of this piece of shit,” I bark at the other men in the room, “and then tell his family to get the fuck out of town. I need to go talk to Sal.” Storming out of the warehouse, I quickly cross the parking lot to my Maserati while wiping my bloody hands across my shirt. Turning over the engine, it growls when I put it in drive and stomp on the accelerator. Swerving in and out city traffic, my fist pounds against top of the steering wheel. I am not upset that traitor is dead, but I am fucking pissed that he managed to get the better of me. That shit does not happen to me. I am Lorenzo Fucking Botticelli. My family is like fucking royalty. My
