The magic of the group can only pass to a blood heir or it will lose its potency. Lira is set to inherit the powers and leadership of the group but she hates how her mother abuses others and wants free. Lira compels a man, Sai, to use him to help escape her mother. Sai (later revealed to be a prince of the Prasanna fairies) is on a mission to reclaim the stolen zevar of his brother, Prince Shaan. Prince Lennox of the Seelie stole the jewel and Sai and his group plan to infiltrate the Seelie palace to get it back. Sai is traveling with Neia, his right hand, (and later revealed to be a human) and Elisa, Neia’s partner and a fairy with elemental metal magic. Sai’s team—Neia, Elisa, Luz, Orman, and Ishir—convince Lira to join them for the heist. They also plan to reclaim the Memoria Globe, an artifact that belonged to the Alegre fae, Luz’s people. Lira joins Sai in visiting the Naga—a mystical, half-snake creature that lives in the river and has powerful magic. The Naga predicts Sai is about to fall and Lira is about to CHARACTER REVIEW Main Characters Sai: Second born prince of the Prasanna fae and the leader of a group of magical thieves who work together to restore stolen Prasanna artifacts. He has Prasanna memory magic as well as Froh shadow magic that he inherited from a great grandparent. Lira: A siren with elemental magic (powers over air, water, fire, and earth) who holds the magic of her siren troupe. Shaan: Sai’s younger brother and a prince of the Prasanna fae. He had his zevar stolen by Lennox. Lennox: Prince of the Seelie fae, and (unknown to both of them) Lira’s brother. Neia: A human that is Sai’s second-in-command. Elisa’s partner. Margo: A siren and friend of Lira’s from her mother’s troupe. Sai’s Team Elisa: A Seelie fairy who lives in Prasanna territory and possesses elemental metal magic. Neia’s partner. Luz: An Alegre fairy with magic that can read others’ feelings. Orman: An elf who has second sight magic that can see through buildings and in the dark.
