Dear Reader, I hope you enjoy both the characters and the sports element in Their Angel. I just want to warn you that I did my best to keep the details about skydiving and BASE jumping competitions as accurate and close to reality as possible. However some minor details especially in regards to the timing of official competitions have been altered to fit the timeline of the story. This shouldn’t detract from your enjoyment and the realism of it, so are you ready to dive into this sinful, sensual story? I hope you’ll love the characters as much as I do. Late-Night Decisions –––––––– Channing –––––––– I BLAME IT ON JET LAG. No, seriously. I mean, fuck, there’s no other explanation for the fact that I’m in my room in JeanLuc’s mansion rather than being at the legit rager that Wild Horse is throwing downstairs. The old me would have been all over the fucking place. I would have been the life of the party, especially since the invitational is well and truly behind me and I fucking slayed it, being the overall winner. There’s something about BASE jumping from a building that gets my blood pumping, I swear to God. I guess it’s the fact that you jump from a slightly lower altitude, and that means a precision landing. There are also extra points for opening your parachute at the latest possible second. Fuck, when I put it that way, I see why Lenley was low-key freaking out last night. It is more dangerous than skydiving. Lenley. I smile at the memory of her soft body wrapped around mine last night as she slept between J and me. I can lie to myself all I want, blaming jet lag and the adrenaline crash after jumping off the motherfucking Eiffel Tower, but deep down, I know she’s why I’m not downstairs. Old Channing would have been busy choosing which girl, or girls, out of all the models, influencers, and starlets at the party he’d be taking up here to work off the residual adrenaline from today’s competition. Fuck, the old me would have probably already fucked one in a dark corner of the party room or in one of the dozen bathrooms in this small castle. I’d be onto hookup number two by now. But I’m up here. The truth is, I have no interest in any of the girls downstairs. Laughter bubbles deep in my chest and comes out as a snort. In reality, I’m not interested in any girl in France or the US or wherever. There’s only one gorgeous woman occupying my every thought since the night Peyton offered her a deal on the beach in Star Cove. I know Lenley is probably downstairs and I could go dance with her, but tonight, I’m not in a sharing mood. Tonight, I want my girl all to myself, and I want to finally tell her how I really feel. I’m in love with her. I’ve been trying to slow down, reminding myself that I don’t do girlfriends for a reason. I’ve told myself countless times that I’m going to lose interest or fuck it all up one way or another. It’s all bullshit. I’m not going to fuck it up because I can’t even see any other woman when Lenley’s in the room, and when she isn’t, I can’t see any other woman because I’m thinking about her and looking for her. So no, I’ve got this. All I have to do is make sure that I show her that I can make her happy. Maybe I should go downstairs, find her, and tell her how I feel. I smile, but this time it’s a slow smirk that comes with a better idea than venturing downstairs. My mind goes to the time I took Len to the drive-in and things got hot and heavy in the back of my truck. I was so desperate to get her naked and to get off that we left before The Breakfast Club, my favorite movie, even started. We went searching for a hotel room and got busted when we bumped into Gina in the lobby of the Star Cove Grand Hotel. Isn’t it funny that the memory makes me smile and gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling when I got one of the worst cases of blue balls in my entire life that night? But that’s exactly what gave me the idea. I unlock the screen of my phone—my personal
