Chapter 1 Domencio DeLuca“Bosco, it’s a simple answer.” “Mr. DeLuca, I don’t know what it is that you are asking of me,” Bosco cries as strands of his ponytail slip from the holder. My men have him dangling over the dock on my private bayou in the furthest part of my estate, away from my house. I was born and raised on the bayou. Fishing, crawfishing, and catching alligators runs deep in my veins. My daddy taught me, and his father did the same with him. When I was younger, I promised myself that when I got older, I would have my own bayou. A place I can go to, to clear my head. To make it authentic, I added two male alligators David and Goliath. I am a Capo, Boss of bosses that’s very powerful in my DeLuca family. We are known throughout the States and abroad. For three generations we have run Louisiana. New Orleans is where they ruled with an iron fist, but once I took over, I moved our headquarters to Shreveport. Don’t get me wrong, I love the city, but shit was changing there. Overnight it seemed like the politicians, the cops; even the ones in our back pockets, were watching us like hawks. As much as I hated to leave New Orleans, I knew it was time to relocate. Shit has not always been easy with rivals trying to take over and such. I have had issues with the law, or bullshit from within the organization with disloyal members, like this shit here. Granted, I do own the casino, so at the time I allowed him to receive advances on the table when his luck started to go south. I’m an equal opportunist, so when he vowed to pay back the money he owed, I took his word for it. Well, it’s been six weeks and this piece of shit has yet to pay the fifty-six grand owed to me. Every time I would call him about his debt, he’d say he’ll have it within a few days. Well, that shit is over. “It’s simple to me. I fronted you the money because you said you would pay it back with interest but along the way, you forgot about our arrangement,” I reminded him. “Bosco, my money is the closest thing I have as a child, and to me you have abused my child...how would you have me handle the abuse?” Pleading for his life, Bosco begs, “Mr. DeLuca, if you let me go, I can get the money to you within the next hour.” Glancing over to my Second in Command and best friend, Batista Rengould, I check to see if he believes the words that are leaving Bosco’s double-sided tongue. When he slowly moved his head from side to side, I got my answer. Reaching into the pocket of my suit jacket, I pull out my Benchmade 535 Bugout pocket knife. Bosco’s eyes widened as I released the blade. “Please Mr. DeLuca, it doesn’t have to be like this. I have your money. I beg of you to think about my family,” he cries. Pointing the tip of the knife at him, I growl, “Did you think about my family when you decided to steal from them? I’ve given you six weeks to repay what you owe me, and you haven’t. I like to think I am a fair guy Bosco, since you did not uphold your end of our arrangement, it’s your fault that you have ended up in this position. And as for you family, you have none.
