Chapter One Master Zane sat behind his desk in the office of Club Sensation, scrolling through the latest member applications. He slowly scanned the documents on the screen, his eyebrows knitted in concentration. Every now and then, he paused to tap a silver pen against his planner that was filled with neatly placed sticky notes and meeting reminders. His office was maintained exactly how he preferred his surroundings. The environment was uncluttered, but not sterile. Rich, dark woods and smoothly polished surfaces were the running themes of the furniture, with built-in bookcases matching them perfectly. The shelves housed his collection of vintage books depicting the history of Boston, the fishing trade, and New England in general. More than one person had observed how much the room seemed like a family law firm reaching back through generations instead of the workspace of a BDSM club owner. Zane rested his chin on the heel of his palm. Several applicants were eliminated immediately. They either hadn’t filled out the form completely or hadn’t included their legal name.
