The people in the omegaverse display a more canine or wolflike behavior. Some books involve shifting into wolves. This series will have minimal shifting. Here are some terms that will be helpful to know (*note: these definitions pertain to my stories): Omega: A female or male who would often have multiple partners to help them during heats. Usually has a particular scent that alphas find very appealing and unable to resist. Beta: Like a normal human in the wolf world Alpha: Top of the food chain, and they gravitate to omegas. They also have a scent to attract omegas. Delta: Ferocious and deadly, typically guards and second in command to alphas Sigma: Loner wolves that don't take orders Slick: Secretion from the privates Heat: A period where an omega needs to mate - akin to ovulating in human females. Knot: When an alpha mates an omega— and the base of the penis swells, locking the alpha and omega in place Rut: Alphas can go into rut phase, similar to heat. Sometimes an omega’s heat will bring it on. Scent blockers: Can come in pills or as a cream. Blocks an omega scent from attracting alphas. The islanders of Howl's Edge had spoken of it, yet as the princess and daughter of the Royal Pack, I had been ignorant of the gossip until I witnessed them firsthand. Perched atop the staircase, I watched my three alpha fathers, greet their new omega into throne room. At least, I was sure she was an omega. She was young with fiery red hair and oval eyes. They hugged her in turn, and I felt sick to my stomach. The rumors were true. They had taken in a new omega from the last Omega Ball. This was a nightmare in the making. King Saku, the oldest of my fathers had passed away three months ago. Barely that, and they were already acting like nothing happened. My mom was still wearing black and mourning, for goodness’ sake. Saku was the only one who held the family together like glue, his wise counsel sought after. The family bond was over once he passed away. I felt it happen after the funeral. The distance between my fathers and my mother, Queen Ophelia lengthened day by day. My fathers pounced like lions on the next omega they saw without their brother’s guidance. Just because my mother could not bear anymore children. I watched, shocked and dismayed, as the omega kissed them all on the lips. Her hips swayed seductively as she walked to each of them in turn and bile rose in my throat. They were supposed to be comforting my mother. Not blatantly kissing this omega for all to see. Making my way down the stairs, I decided to destroy this little party. They all looked at me when my heels clicked on the throne room floors, announcing my presence. They quickly distanced themselves from the red-haired omega upon seeing me arrive. King Armon, the oldest of my fathers, smiled upon seeing me. He was tall and lanky with a long gray goatee.
